Engine System Control Failure Lanica Kappa 2.0

Hello,
I got a problem with my Lancia Kappa 2.0, model 2000; the computer display reads “Engine System Control Failure”. It started with alternator-generator failure. Still have not replaced the alternator. Could this message appear because of alternator problem or it is something else. What could be a cause and what might be a solution?
Does anyone knows how to reset/reboot the Lancia Kappa computer?
You opinion will be highly appreciated.

The readings on your display are due to the catalyst (really don't know if this is translated right) but is no problem.
Resetting can be done to disconnect the cables from the battery for a few minutes and then hold them against each other (just the cabels, NOT the battery-poles).

Thank you very much for the message. I have scheduled an appointment on coming Friday, with official Lancia service, here in The Netherlands, and I am looking forward to see what is the problem.

Allright. Also mension the Lambda-sonde. It usually is the main reason for the system faillure-message.

be sure that you have the door keys in your pocket when you re resetting the boardcomputer the doors will shutdown

help help
Ik heb een probleem met mijn lancia kappa
Het display geeft steeds Engine System Control Failure aan.
Ik weet niet hoe ik dit weg krijg of wat ik hier mee moet…
Moet alles gereset worden misschien?? Zo ja doe ik dit met de rode bijgeleverde sleutel?
Vaak als dit gebeurt loopt de auto stationair ook hoger in toeren en paseerd daar bij de 2000
Ik hoop van harte dat iemand een antwoord heeft voor mij.
